Explore our activities
With Melkevoll Bretun as your base you can explore many activities both on our place, and nearby.
At the campsite we have a beautiful nature path with information and viewpoints, the inforama path. We are also the starting point to hikes to the Briksdal glacier, Oldeskaret and Mt. Kattanakken.
After a good day of hikes the sauna is warm in the evenings. What about a cooling dip in the river?
Around on the campsite it is also bouldering, climbing and a playground for children.
Every week we have yogaclasses in the Blue Mountain Hall in the mainseason June, July and August.
Sauna & Icebath
Every evening we have warm sauna at the camping. Outside the sauna we have “Kulpen” - a small part of the river where you can test the ice cold glacier water.
Yoga in the
Blue Mountain Hall
Every week in June, July and August we have yoga classes in the Blue Mountain Hall. This is a special nature room, with views to the nature around us.

The inforama path
Around the campsite we have made a walk in the special nature here. At different posts you can read about nature, culture and history in the area.
This is a nature and culture path where you walk in between the stones, rivers, waterfalls and can learn at the same time.
We have a viewpoint to Briksdal glacier, and over the Oldedalen valley on this route.
Hikes with startingpoint at Melkevoll Bretun
From Melkevoll Bretun you can start your walk to Briksdal glacier. Also directly on our camping you start the walk to Oldeskaret, which is a spectacular mountain trip.
The walk to Mt. Kattanakken also start here. Only a short walk away you start the family friendly Brenndal glacier.
Only a few minutes away it is many other attraction and hikes. Have a look on our page for hikes and attractions.
Climbing & Nature playground
Around the camping there are various climbing routs; “Boulders”, that are popular among climbers. For kids it is alot to explore in nature (with the parents watchful eye always” and a small playgroun the campsite we have various big stones where there are created so called “bouldering routes”. Every summer we have climbers here exploring the various climbing boulders.
In the reception you can rent crash pad, and we have guides over the routes. You have to bring your own climbing shoes.
